SACNW Benefit from Kelly McGuire’s Annual Birthday Bash

Every February, country singer/songwriter Kelly McGuire comes to Ambergris Caye to celebrate his birthday and raise money for local charities. Kelly’s love for the island has been rooted for years and has served as an inspiration for many of his songs, so much so that he comes every year to celebrate his birthday on the island that he loves.

On Saturday, February 5th the award-winning artist returned to Lighthouse Beach Villas (formerly Athens Gate) to celebrate in his laid-back beach party kind of way.

Lighthouse Beach Villas hosted a Beach Concert and BBQ to benefit SACNW (South Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch – known as the safest neighborhood on the island). Delicious BBQ and amazing entertainment were enjoyed by all who attended, and proceeds went directly to SACNW. SACNW is a non-profit organization that provides security and assistance to the community of South Ambergris Caye.

The event was such a success and so much fun they decided to do it again at Lighthouse Beach just a few days later, on February 8th. Once again Kelly drew a crowd, the weather was perfect, and the BBQ was finger-licking good. While attendees sang along with McGuire to songs like Blame it on Buffett and Boat in Belize, the dual events raised over $10,000 for SACNW.

Lighthouse Beach and SACNW would like to thank all the volunteers, attendees and all the businesses that donated time, talent, and prizes for the live auction to help this worthy organization. Lighthouse Beach Villas hopes that in years to come we can continue to celebrate Kelly’s Birthday and raise money for worthy charities on the Island.
